ALTQ with Author, Reporter and Journalism Prof Amy Haimerl

Amy Haimerl is a professor of journalism at Michigan State University and covers small business and urban policy for Fortune, Reuters, and the New York Times. She visited this library for a talk & a book signing in 2017 after she published her memoir, Detroit Hustle. We've been eager to speak with her since the release of that book, but we also wanted to talk about the reporting she's been doing recently for the New York Times, covering small businesses. Haimerl was also the entrepreneurship editor at Crain's Detroit Business, where she covered the city's historic bankruptcy trial, and she happens to be the founder of the Shady Ladies Literary Society, which is something of an epic book club!
